nVidia Graphics Card Drivers

3 messages

I heard somewhere that you should only download nVidia graphics card drivers directly from nVidia, and not from Microsoft. Because a lot of the newer games require OpenGL support and Microsoft drivers don't support OpenGL. Is this true?

Sounds about right..... it's unlikely Microsoft would host Nvidia drivers anyway!

Microsoft do distribute nVidia drivers on their XP CDs, and via
Windows update, but they remove the OpenGL support. This isn't
so much of a problem these days because actually very few
modern games use OpenGL. I'd still recommend getting the
drivers directly from nVidia though, especially if you are
running Glidos.
